Dataram is seeking to hire a Senior Product Manager for our Tampa, FL location.

As a Senior Product Manager at Dataram, you will be charged with defining and executing the strategy for a key Dataram memory portfolio category that will position Dataram for success in the dynamic and competitive memory industry. You will build and lead a cross-functional team of key representatives from multiple engineering, marketing, and operations to develop the strategy, optimize the business case of each product, drive products through each stage of Dataram’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process, and lead the development activities of new products by specifying the requirements, setting priorities and handling tradeoff decisions. You will be responsible for managing your designated products across the lifecycle - from inception to end of life.

This also includes partnering with Product marketing on the development of go-to-market plans and activities for specific products or product lines to establish, enhance, and distinguish placement within the competitive arena in order to maximize sales. In this position, you will gather market and customer needs and deliver to those needs through Dataram’s capable cross-functional teams. You will also manage the product lifecycle, manage pricing and quoting escalations, product demand profiles for quarterly planning, customer escalations and issues related to your product portfolio.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Product Manager’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboratively work with key team members to develop and establish the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for initially high performance memory and storage product lines
  • Drive the product strategy across functional organizations to achieve the program objectives which includes working with engineering teams to design, develop and launch high quality products on time
  • Own and lead full life cycle of product portfolio from definition to execution to end of life, including the timely preparation and presentation of all stage gates and key product decisions
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, market requirements, and technology trends to enable the development of the product portfolio
  • Product strategy creation, including product positioning, customer plans, and pricing
  • Development and continued optimization of the business case for each product in your portfolio, including unit cost, capex, revenue, R&D, opportunity cost and return on investment analysis
  • Directly and indirectly work with customers to define product features, priorities, schedule and other requirements
  • Collaborate with key external development partners and suppliers
  • Monitor and work towards a comprehensive understanding of competitor products and strategies
  • Lead the full product development process by acting as the key interface that provides product mentorship to engineering, program management, operations, and manufacturing groups
  • Lead the key activities required to launch new products into the market (NPI, new product introduction)
  • Oversight of personnel resource, manufacturing, and development plans
  • Participate in the product management community by contributing to corporate process improvement and act as secondary/back-up product manager for assigned products
  • Creating & maintaining market-focused GTM (go to market) plans that clearly communicate product positioning, enablement plans, profitable ramps, and underlying priorities
  • Maintaining clear and timely communication around the health, priorities, and trade-offs of the product line, across all levels of the Dataram organization to drive best-in-class execution over the lifecycle of our products – from development to end-of-life
  • Representing the "Voice of the Customer", market requirements and Sales needs internally as it relates to your respective product of ownership
  • Creating & maintaining customer-facing product collateral, messaging and marketing tools for Dataram’s sales and channel teams
  • Sales and Channel enablement and training, including support with key customer presentations and events
  • Analyzing market, competitive, sales, and customer data to contribute to product plans and product strategies
  • Product quarterly revenue, margin and unit planning and management, providing inputs to product pricing models and pricing strategies
  • Leading key initiatives that focus on a vertical market, specific customer or business challenges and contribute to developing processes within the Product Management team and partner organizations that are customer-centric and focused on best-in-class execution

 

Qualifications

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Proven ability to grasp complex financial, technical, and marketing information to develop product plans and strategies
  • Demonstrated business insight and the ability to complete complex technical projects
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including to senior management
  • Demonstrated business acumen and critical thinking skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and working across multiple locations
  • Consistent track record of strategy development

 

Education and Experience Required

  • 5+ years of relevant marketing experience in Enterprise DRAM, SSDs and related IT Components products
  • 5+ years product development or engineering with experience in both technical and business topics in a semiconductor or a computing systems company
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering
  • Enterprise OEM or channel experience a plus

 

Location and Travel

  • This position will be located in Tampa, FL
  • The role requires the ability to travel (up to 20%)
